Natasha Tarbox

Tutoring

I specialize in tutoring for dyslexia.

I am an elementary teacher in my thirteenth year of teaching students of various learning abilities. At Bloom, I offer tutoring services to help students discover their potential, foster a love of reading, and equip them with the necessary tools for a lifetime of learning. Your child’s time with me will be individualized with achievable goals to track progress and build your child’s confidence. I will focus on areas where growth is needed, and at the same time, utilize your child’s learning strengths. We will target these areas with explicit, direct, sequential, systematic, and multi-sensory instruction.

I find great joy in working with students on their paths towards academic success. I completed my Orton-Gillingham training through the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, and am currently working towards completing my LETRS certification. Orton-Gillingham is a unique approach to teaching literacy when traditional models are not effective. I joined Bloom in 2023 and am excited to share my own love for reading and learning with students. When I am not working with students, I love to read, hike, horseback ride, and practice yoga.

The results

“Our child was not a strong reader before the pandemic and, after online learning, we realized she needed some extra help to continue to stay at grade level and grasp challenging phonics and coding concepts. Natasha was a great fit to help identify our student’s needs, build confidence, encourage hard work and celebrate successes.”

Kristi Spehler, Parent

“Natasha is an amazing teacher who skillfully blends strong relationships, challenging content, engaging instruction, and joyful learning together to support student growth. As one of our lead teachers, we often lean on Natasha's expertise to update and enhance our literacy curriculum and instruction. Her classroom is often described as a ‘magical’ place because of the high levels of student engagement and the strong connections within her classroom!”
