My interest in pediatrics and child psychiatry emerged early during medical school. After my pediatric residency training, I completed a one-year fellowship in Behavioral Pediatrics (which is similar to child psychiatry) at Riley Hospital for Children where I worked with some legends in the field. My work was especially focused on ADD/ADHD, autism, and other developmental disorders. I then started practicing as a general pediatrician and have done so for 27 years and counting. My interest in mental health has only grown over the years as mental and developmental disorders have become even more prevalent in children and adolescents. I have cared for patients, as well as several of my beloved nephews, from birth through young adulthood and been with them through the initial concerns, diagnostic process, and treatment of these conditions. I have experienced the heartbreaks and victories that come along the way.

My passion for mental health has led me to regularly attend and present at the Riley Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Group, and I’ve also pursued continuing education at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, renowned for their child psychiatry program and a U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital. I strive to be known among my colleagues for excellence and thoroughness in patient care.

I am excited about a new phase of my career working with Bloom to use my experience and knowledge to provide clients and their parents with an effective and personalized medication plan to help them thrive. I also have a passion for helping clients and their families find the best possible school interventions, therapies, and medical sub-specialty care they can receive.
