How is coaching different from therapy? Executive Coaching focuses on the goals and struggles you’re balancing within your professional career with the purpose of identifying and then achieving your greatest potential. Therapy operates from the assumption that there is a mental health condition present, and treating that condition is the primary focus of the therapy sessions. Executive Coaching presumes that the client’s mental health is intact, and sessions are focused on optimizing the trajectory of your career. Because there is no mental health or medical diagnosis present in Executive Coaching, it is not insurance reimbursable. However, many clients can write off the costs of Executive Coaching as a business expense on their taxes, and Bloom can provide a statement for that purpose.
